I'm a bird without wings
Aiming to fly very high
People laughed and teased me
Say Bird without wings cannot fly
I was left alone in the world of darkness with my tears rolling down
But my special teachers believed in me, gave me new wings to fly
Inspired me not just to fly, but fly very very high
That's why I love my special nest
where I am a differently talented bird aiming to fly high.
A special school is a place of exploration. It creates an environment of sharing and caring and provides opportunities for a child's talent to be nurtured. Each classroom is special and has something to share about a child's abilities and activities. The special educators build rapport with parents and children. They try to understand the parents' concerns shared at different stages of their and the child's life. Considering the child's learning style, teachers plan individualised need based teaching programs aiming to build confidence and train students in skills that they otherwise find difficult to learn, such as daily chores, participating in interactive activities and so on. The aim is to make the children reasonably self reliant, respected in society, and not be labelled as disabled.
